IHF works with healthcare trusts and boards to craft Human Factors awareness training for staff at all levels, from board to ward. We also consult and design Human Systems Integration for a variety of concerns including staff morale, patient journey mapping, ward lay-out and optimisation, fatigue management and communication. Our goal is to support a cycle of continuous improvement that tackles problem areas proactively, addressing both patient safety and healthcare worker wellbeing.

Training for nurses and other staff:

IHF training for healthcare begins with a two-day introduction to Human Factors, covering what they are and how they can impact on both patient and practitioner well-being.

Our courses are highly interactive and rely heavily on experiential learning. Upon completion, participants will be awarded IHF's Human Factors For Nursing certification.

Topics include:
  • Communication
  • Leadership
  • Situational awareness
  • Decision-making and judgment
  • Fatigue and Stress Management
  • Teamwork
